Councilmember Tossey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #12 -03 -033 RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE MULTI CITY (RAMSEY, ANOKA, ANDOVER, CHAMPLIN, AND COON RAPIDS) BEYOND THE YELLOW RIBBON CAMPAIGN WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is home to many military service members serving overseas defending the values and freedoms we hold dear; and WHEREAS, the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Campaign originated with the Minnesota National Guard and seeks to create a voluntary, comprehensive community network that connects and coordinates agencies, organizations, resources, and employers for the purpose of meeting the needs of military members and their families; and WHEREAS, the Multi -City Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Campaign is in the process of forming and intends to connect local military families with assistance and support from all parts of the community; and WHEREAS, the Multi -City Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Campaign Kickoff Event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the Green Haven Golf & Banquet Center, 2800 Greenhaven Road, Anoka, where citizens and community organizations may learn more about the initiative. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby proclaims the City of Ramsey's wholehearted support of the Multi -City Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Campaign. 2) That the Ramsey City Council on behalf of the City of Ramsey expresses to all of our military members and their families the deepest of appreciation for the sacrifices they make. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Backous, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Ramsey Councilmember Tossey Councilmember Backous Councilmember Elvig Councilmember McGlone Councilmember Strommen Councilmember Wise
