COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case gl: Make The Scene, Keep Ramsey Clean Committee Proposal For <br /> 1990: <br /> <br />Kathi Peterson was present representing the Keep America Beautiful (KAB), Make The <br />Scene, Keep Ramsey Clean Committee. Kathi noted that Council has been provided with a <br />report that summarizes the Committee's projects in 1989 and proposed projects for 1990. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Peterson stated that Mayor Reimann has requested that either the full Council <br />or a Council subcommittee meet with Make The Scene, Keep Ramsey Clean Committee to <br />discuss the Ramsey Clean Up Day for 1990. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to schedule a <br />joint meeting of the City Council and the Make The Scene, Keep Ramsey Clean Committee <br />on March 21, 1990 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss Ramsey Clean Up Day 1990. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Acting Mayor Peterson, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson <br />and Cich. Voting No: None. Absent: Mayor Reimann. <br /> <br />The Council proceeded to review the KAB goals and proposed budget for 1990. <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca suggested that Business and Industry project focus on businesses <br />city-wide. He also suggested that the Committee obtain firm commitments for acceptance <br />of hazardous waste materials in their planning of a hazardous waste collection day. <br />Councilmember Cich was interested in knowing the volume of materials collected at the <br />City's previous hazardous waste collection day. Kathi Peterson noted that the hazardous <br />waste collection day is dependent upon the City receiving a grant from MPCA for same. It <br />was also recommended that the commitment of a City Staff liaison person at 8 hours per <br />week be forwarded to the Personnel Committee for approval. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Cich to approve, in <br />concept, the proposed KAB Make The Scene, Keep Ramsey Clean proposed goals and <br />budget for 1990 and to direct City Staff to designate appropriate funding sources and <br />allocation of City Staff time to be reviewed by the Personnel Committee. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Councilmember Pearson inquired as to the funding source in 1989 for <br />KAB projects. Sandra Ashley replied that in 1989, KAB projects were funded by the <br />Landfill Tipping Fee and Landfill Trust Fund; City Staff time was funded through General <br />Operations. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Acting Mayor Peterson, Councilmembers Pearson, Cich and <br />DeLuca. Voting No: None.
