Goodrich, the City
Attorney, about a week ago ~e was wondering w~at tee
county could do. And Z think it's kind of interesting
that we a~ the county say it's a city problem, you
they do tee zoning, et cetera, et cetera. It's kind of
lil(e, you know, pass ~h~ buck. BUt I want ~o remind you
that in addition ~o your county commissioner, your county
a~orn~y is also elected and I would like you ~o know
t~at t~e Attorney General's office ~as suggested that not
jusg one city bu~ pef~aps a number of oi~ies or counties
ought to ban together and pernaps hire someone who is an
exper~ in First ~uendmen~ law. f~'s ao~ a law
somebody practices everyday.

So my suggestion is ~ha= as you si= down

with that pen and not only write to the elected officials
in Ramsey and pe£naps =o mys~if. I think it would be'
kind of interesting ~o be sitting on the Board of
Adjus=me~l~s and g~ing a 50 pe£cen~ reduction in taxss
and finding out how tha~ would go. I may pu~ myself on
tee Board of Adjustments next year jus~ ~o go c~rouga it,
and I don't mean go make light of ig because £ believe
wha~ the man says in terms of re-evaluation. Bu~ ~ would

sugges~ ~a~ ~e ta}~e it very s~£iousiy what ~ne A~orney
General's office from the State of Minnesota

ADAMS COURT REPORTING

(612) 375-9150
