Mayor Reimann suggested that if the Commission feels more strongly about a certain issue,
they should highlight it in some way.

Councilmember Peterson stated another duty would be to have a Councilmember take a
Commission and discuss what to keep abreast with such as Councilmember DeLuca could
keep in contact with the Economic Development Commission and he (Peterson) could keep
in contact with the Planning and Zoning Commission, since Councilmember's Cich and
Pearson were already in contact with (on) the Fire Board.

Chairman Zimmerman stated they get their agenda packets the Friday before their meeting.
By that time, some of the minutes are a month or more old. He asked if there was a way
the minutes could be sent out as soon as possible.

Mayor Reimann asked Mr. Hartley if the process of getting the minutes out could be sped
up.
Mr. Hartley answered yes.

Councilmember Pearson feels the minutes don't always reflect the feelings of the meeting
and the only way you can get that direct feeling is by attending the meeting itself.

Mayor Reimann stated that if the Commission come up with more improvement
suggestions to please submit them to the Council.

Commissioner Hardin stated he feels the Economic Development Commission and the City
Staff are working with the same people, almost competing against each other. He feels
each needs to communicate the information to the other.

Mr. Banwart replied that the EDC should let the staff know if they're working with a
certain developer/business.

Commissioner Hardin feels some of these people should be referred to the EDC.

Mr. Banwart stated the purpose of the EDC is to promote a good, sound, economic
community.

Commissioner Hendrikson stated he didn't feel Mr. Banwart needed to "feed his clients
back to the EDC" as this, in his opinion, would be a breach of confidentiality. It puts Mr.
Banwart in a tough position.

Commissioner Hardin stated that if confidentiality is requested, then it should be honored,
if not, Mr. Banwart should give the EDC the names of his contacts.

Mr. Banwart informed Commissioner Hardin that his clients shouldn't have to state
confidentiality, to some degree, all are confidential.

It was decided that this was another issue altogether and that the meeting should be
adjourned for tonight.

ADJOURN

Motion by Commissioner Hendrikson and seconded by Councilmember Cich to adjourn
the joint meeting of the Ramsey City Council, Ramsey Economic Development
Commission and the Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission Motion carded. Voting
Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmember Cich, Commissioner Hendrikson, Councilmember

CITY COUNCIL/EDC/P&Z MINUTES
Page7 of 8
