Upon City approval, paychecks for the fire fighters will be issued quarterly. The question was raised regarding the deduction of Medicare on the paychecks. Chief Hoeke will report on this at the next meeting. A copy of the "Standard Operating Procedures for the Ramsey Fire Department" was passed out for reviewal. Any questions or changes are to be brought up at the next meeting. Chief Hoeke brought a pair safety glasses to the meeting for the fire fighters to consider using for various conditions. The price per set is $12.50. Assistant Chief Axt suggested looking into the possibility of a Department membership at the Iron Works Gym. Mr. Jay Guimont will look into the cost and report on it at the next meeting. The Fire Department has a large map of the City and its streets. The map will need to be mounted and covered so it can be seen by all fire fighters, and in such a manner that a fire can be pin-pointed without damage to the map. Idea's should be brought up at the next meeting. OLD BUSINESS Chief Hoeke passed around the different retirement plans that surrounding departments have. The Retirement Committee will discuss the options regarding these plans at a future meeting. Mr. Al Latour presented two proposals for the cascade systems. It was decided that the issue would be brought up at that evening's Fire Board meeting. Chief Hoeke asked the fire fighters to list the times that they are available for call in order to update his records. Motion by Mr. Noreen and seconded by Mr. Wilson to establish meeting dates for the Ramsey Volunteer Fire Department as the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month beginning in March.
