FIRE BOARD <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Fire Board conducted a regular meeting on Wednesday, December 6, 1989 at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Alan Pearson, Chairman <br />Mr. Richard Cich <br />Mr. Alfred LaTour <br />Mr. Jayme Spence <br />Mr. Steven Wilson <br />Mr. David Hardey, City Administrator <br />Mr. Bruce Hoeke, Fire Chief <br /> <br />Members Absent: Mr. David Bawden <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman Pearson called the regular meeting of the Fire Board to order at 7:27 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Chief Hoeke asked that Case #9: "Recommend Fire Board Appointments to the City Council" be <br />added to the agenda. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Cich and seconded by Mr. Hartley to approve the agenda as amended. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Pearson, Board Members Cich, Hartley, LaTour, Spence, <br />and Wilson. Voting No: None. Absent: Board Member Bawden. <br /> <br />BOARD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Discuss Mutual Aid Contracts: <br /> <br />Chief Hoeke stated that he is recommending mutual aid contracts with the Cities of Elk River, <br />Anoka, Andover, Ham Lake, Oak Grove, St. Francis and Coon Rapids. He said that we should <br />have these contracts in place by March or April. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Hartley and seconded by Mr. LaTour to recommend to the City Council that the <br />City seek joint powers agreements for mutual aid with the Cities of Elk River, Anoka, Andover, <br />Ham Lake, Oak Grove, St. Francis and Coon Rapids. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Pearson, Board Members Hartley, LaTour, Cich, Spence <br />and Wilson. Voting No: None. Absent: Board Member Bawden. <br /> <br />Case #2: Purchase of Pagers: <br /> <br />Chief Hoeke stated that the purchase of four pagers would bring us up to equip 30 fire fighters. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that Mr. Bawden has asked him to speak on his behalf and he is concerned as <br />to what has caused this need and is it in the budget. <br /> <br />Chief Hoeke stated that these items are provided for in the budget. <br /> <br />Fire Board/December 6, 1989 <br /> Page 1 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
