HRA Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 08/28/2012 <br />By: Tim Gladhill, Community Development <br />5. 2. <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Discuss Format and Request for Authorization for Resident Roundtable Discussions <br />Background: <br />The 2012 Strategic Goals include developing a Resident Roundtable Discussion for mature neighborhoods. Staff <br />would like to discuss the format of this roundtable and seek authorization to host these meeting(s) over the winter <br />months. <br />Observations: <br />Before finalizing details of the Resident Roundtable Discussions, Staff would like to seek some general, broad <br />policy feedback and discuss the format of these meetings. The general questions Staff would like clarification on <br />include: <br />1. Is the City Council interested in specific geographic areas? <br />2. Does the City Council prefer an Open House, Open Mic, OST, or other style format? <br />3. Does the City Council desire the Roundtable Discussions to be completed by the end of the year, or could the <br />meetings continue into the early months of 2013? <br />4. What is the City Council's desired end -product? <br />5. Does the City Council want to suggest any additional resources beyond the Property Maintenance Code <br />(consider fix -up funds, etc.)? <br />Recommendation: <br />Based on discussion. <br />Funding Source: <br />Preparation and hosting of the Roundtable Discussions will be handled as part of regular Staff duties. <br />Council Action: <br />Provide feedback on the format of the Resident Roundtable Discussions.
