SECTION 3 — EVALUATION OF EXISTING FACILITIES <br />A. GENERAL <br />This Section provides a summary of existing water supply, treatment, storage and <br />distribution facilities for the City of Ramsey. In addition, infrastructure needs will be <br />assessed for each of the facilities. <br />B. WATER SUPPLY <br />1. Existing Water Supply Facilities <br />The City of Ramsey is underlain by two aquifers, the Ironton -Galesville and the Mount <br />Simon -Hinckley formations. Water Supply Capacity <br />The Recommended Standards for Water Works (Ten States Standards) <br />recommends that the average day demand be met by the firm well pumping <br />capacity. In addition, the daily well output is calculated based on operating for 20 <br />hours per day to allow 4 hours per day for aquifer recharges. Peak day demands <br />can be met using the total well capacity, also calculated using 20 hours of <br />pumping per day.
