CC Regular Session Meeting Date: 09/11/2012 By: Colleen Lasher, Administrative Services Information Title: Report from the Personnel Committee - Meeting Date: August 28, 2012 Background: Case 1: Consider a Resolution Ending the Probation of Paid -On -Call Firefighters Case 2: Consider a Resolution to Enter Into a Memorandum of Understanding (M.O.U.) with AFSCME Notification: Observations: Recommendation: Case 1: The Personnel Committee recommended approval of resolution #12 -09 -XXX, to remove Jackie Edwards and Timothy Flickinger from probation and retain them as paid on -call firefighters. Case 2: The Personnel Committee recommended approval of resolution #12 -09 -XXX, to authorize the Memorandum of Understanding (M.O.U.) in order to meet the coverage requirements and other responsibilities associated with the care and oversight of the Municipal Center until the full -time Building Maintenance Worker returns from his medical leave. Funding Source: Case 1: The is no additional funding required for this action. Case 2: The funding required for this request will come from the 2012 PW Streets Seasonal budget. Council Action: Case 1: Motion to approve resolution 12 -09 -XXX, confirming the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to remove Jackie Edwards and Timothy Flickinger from probation and retain them as paid on -call firefighters.
