Councilmember Backous introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #12 -05 -073 <br />RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR CITY PROJECT 12 -24, <br />2012 STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS — DIVISION A <br />WHEREAS, on September 11, 2011 the Ramsey City Council authorized City staff to prepare <br />plans and specifications to improve drainage within various areas of the City associated with heavy rains <br />in the summer of 2011; and <br />WHEREAS, additional storm sewer improvements were added to the project plans by the <br />Ramsey City Council on April 10, 2012, also as a result of the heavy rains in the summer of 2011; and <br />WHEREAS, an emergency culvert repair was discovered on Wolfram Street NW, that provides <br />a drainage way for County Ditch #66, on May 11, 2012 and incorporated into the plan set via addendum; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for City Improvement Project 12 -24; 2012 <br />Storm Sewer Improvement Projects — Division A, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to <br />law; and <br />WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the bids that were received: <br />Contractor Total Bid <br />Dryden Excavating $ 157,262.00 <br />Hydrocon $162,564.50 <br />Julian Johnson $183,390.00 <br />Penn Contracting $198,20100 <br />Dave Perkins Contracting $222,840.00 <br />GM, Inc. $225,717.00 <br />WHEREAS, Dryden Excavating is the lowest responsible bidder. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract <br />with Dryden Excavating for City Improvement Project 12 -24; 2012 Storm Sewer Improvement <br />Projects — Division A, in the amount of $157,262.00, and <br />2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the <br />deposits made with their bids. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mayor Ramsey and upon <br />vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />
