Councilmember Elvig introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #12 -07 -115 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION OF TAX FORFEIT PROPERTY FOR <br />UTILITY EASEMENT PURPOSES <br />WHEREAS, Outlot A, Wildlife Sanctuary Addition, Anoka County, Minnesota, PIN# 23 -32- <br />25 -11 -0006, has forfeited to the State of Minnesota for non - payment of taxes (the "Subject Property "); <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has designated the Subject Property for utility easement <br />purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, the Subject Property was intended to be dedicated to the City of Ramsey at the <br />time of original development and was not; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey was given an escrow by the original developer to purchase <br />the Subject Property at a future date; and <br />WHEREAS, the Subject Property has little or no economic value; and <br />WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of the City of Ramsey to acquire the Subject <br />Property in order to preserve and protect a significant utility easement. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized to complete the application for a state <br />use deed and any other necessary paperwork to secure ownership of the Subject Property for <br />park purposes. <br />2. The Council hereby authorizes payment of the costs of acquisition and recording of the tax <br />deed, not to exceed the monetary balance held in dedicated escrow. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Wise <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Ramsey <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Wise <br />Councilmember Backous <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />Councilmember Strommen <br />Councilmember Tossey <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />
