owners; to solicit input from the property owners; and for Council to make it's <br />decision. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />Council noted a memo from Community Development Director Anne Norris regarding <br />the joint Planning and Zoning/Economic Development Commission/City Council <br />meeting scheduled for Thursday, November 20 in which it is stated that the City <br />Attorney recommends that City Council schedule the joint meeting as a special <br />meeting in order to satisfy the intent of the open meeting law. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann called for a special Council meeting on Thursday, November 20, <br />1986 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Case #2: Maintenance Of Pond In Whisperin~ Pines Park: <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that he received a call from Marcie Lemon requesting <br />that the City maintain the pond in Whispering Pines Park for skating purposes. <br /> <br />A brief discussion ensued regarding the depth of the pond and any liability <br />that might be assumed by grooming the pond for skaters. <br /> <br />Council consensus is that the neighborhood can use the pond for skating but the <br />City will not maintain the pond or reimburse persons for maintaining it; City <br />could improve the access to the area. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Mayor Reimann directing the Public <br />Works and Streets Department to improve the access to Whispering Pines Park in <br />1 987 · <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox and <br />DeLuca. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Schlueter. <br /> <br />Case #3: M~, Steve DeLuca'S Resi_~natiOn From The EConomic ~evelopment <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca stated that in order to allow for immediate advertisement <br />in the Ramsey Resident, he is giving verbal notice of his intent to resign from <br />the Economic Development Commission in the very near future. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND qOUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox requested that staff follow up the situation of blight in the <br />Whispering Pines area. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox requested that copies of the taxing formula for commercial <br />versus residential property prepared earlier this year by Mr. Hartley be <br />available at the joint EDC/PZ/City Council meeting on Thursday, November 20. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Cox to adjourn <br /> Sp Council/il-18-86 <br /> <br />Page 6 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
