Councilmember Strommen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #12 -05 -075 <br />RESOLUTION TO CONTINUE EFFORTS TOWARDS A SHARED FIRE SERVICE <br />WHEREAS, the Shared Fire Service Study Group has held scheduled meetings on a regular <br />basis since October of 2011; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey had the following members participate in the Shared Fire <br />Service Study Group; Councilmember Sarah Strommen Fire Chief Dean Kapler, City Administrator <br />Kurt Ulrich, and Firefighter Shane Swedeen; and <br />WHEREAS, the Shared Fire Service Study Group presented a final report to all communities <br />involved on April 12, 2012 in Ramsey, MN; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has reviewed the opportunities and issues identified in the final <br />report, and conclude that there appears to be opportunity to provide the same or better fire related <br />services at a good value to all tax payers involved; and <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) The City of Ramsey hereby supports the continued effort of looking toward a Shared Fire Service <br />with the other interested communities. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Tossey <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Ramsey <br />Councilmember Strommen <br />Councilmember Tossey <br />Councilmember Backous <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Wise <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />and the following were absent: <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />
