Councilmember McGlone introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #12 -06 -099 <br />RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR CITY IMPROVEMENT <br />PROJECT #12 -00; 2012 STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, on March 13, 2012 the Ramsey City Council ordered Improvement Project <br />12 -00; 2012 Street Maintenance Program, and called for the preparation of plans and <br />specifications; and <br />WHEREAS, on May 22, 2012 the Ramsey City Council accepted the plans and <br />authorized the solicitation of bids; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Improvement Project 12 -00; 2012 <br />Street Maintenance Program, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law; and <br />WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the bids that were received: <br />Contractor Bid <br />Allied Blacktop Co $514,110.74 <br />ASTECH Corp $566,460.00 <br />Pearson Brothers Inc $569,020.22 <br />Engineer's Estimate $600,000.00 <br />WHEREAS, Allied Blacktop is the lowest responsible bidder. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Allied Blacktop for Improvement Project 12 -00; Armstrong 2012 Street <br />Maintenance Program in the amount of $514,110.74; and <br />2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the <br />deposits made with their bids. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Wise and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Ramsey <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />Councilmember Wise <br />Councilmember Backous <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />RESOLUTION #12 -06 -099 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
