CASE~ : <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO HAVE AN ADVERTISING SIGN; <br /> CASE OF MR. JOHN NOARD <br /> By: Planning Assistant Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Mr. John Noard is requesting a conditional use permit to have an advertising <br />sign at his new facility at 6760 Highway #10 N.W. Mr. Noard is proposing to <br />construct a sign advertising the brands of recreational equipment he carries. <br />The total square footage of the sign is approximately 200 square feet; Section <br />170.05 of the City Code states that advertising signs may be up to 300 square <br />feet in size and require a conditional use permit. <br /> <br />The Building Official issued a sign permit to Mr. Noard to erect a sign <br />approximately 100 square feet in size as Section 170.05 of the City Code allows <br />for a 100 square foot identification sign on any property without a conditional <br />use permit. <br /> <br />The advertising sign is proposed to be installed on the same pylons on which <br />the business identification sign is erected. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />a) Proposed sign plan <br />b) Proposed findings of fact <br />c) Proposed conditional use permit <br /> <br />Ob servati ons: <br /> <br />On September 8, 1988, the Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public <br />hearing regarding Mr. Noard's request.
