Motion by Councilmember Cich and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to instruct City
Administrator David Hartley to extend Ramsey's offer of employment to Mr. Daniel Krantz
for the position of Maintenance Worker at a beginning rate of $7.17/hour.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson,
Peterson and Cich. Voting No: None.

Council directed Mr. Hartley to provide the non-Personnel Committee members of City
Council a copy of Daniel Krantz' application for employment.
Case //9: 1989 Fees For Fire Calls:

Finance Officer Ashley noted that in addition to the City's base contracts with the Anoka
and Elk River Fire Departments, the City is billed on a per fire call basis for services in
Ramsey. On January 10, 1989, City Council established the City's 1989 rates, including
those for fire calls; in practice, Ramsey does not bill fine calls at a flat rate but rather at the
City's cost. Ms. Ashley recommended amending the 1989 fee schedule accordingly.

Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Cich to adjust the
City's 1989 fee for fire calls to read: "Billable at City cost".

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson,
Peterson and Cich. Voting No: None.

Case #11: Reconsider Purchase Of Cab And Broom For John Deere
Mower:

Mayor Reimann recalled that at a recent Budget Committee meeting, it was suggested that
the City purchase a trailer for hauling the John Deere mower, rather than a cab and broom
for the mower. The Public Works Dept. feels the trailer is not a good purchase at this time
as trailering is a cumbersome task that is also dangerous in the winter; there is also no
indoor storage for the trailer. Mayor Reimann recommended approval of the request to
purchase a cab and broom.

Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to approve
the purchase of a cab and broom for the John Deere mower.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, Cich
and Peterson. Voting No: None.

Case #12: Report From Road And Bridge Committee:

Mr. Raatikka reviewed and recommended approval of the recommendations resulting from
the Road and Bridge Committee meeting of February 3, 1989.

Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to authorize
the City Engineer to submit the proposed addition of the frontage road between Ramsey
Blvd. and Armstrong Blvd. south of T.H. No. 10 to the District SAtate Aid engineer for
preliminary approval.

City Council/February 14, 1989
