ee

o

The tree protection plan shall be submitted on a copy of a preliminary plat
drawn to the same scale as the other plan documents prepared for a land
disturbance permit application On the property, and shall cover the same
area. The plan must be combined with a required buffer and landscape plan
for the project.

Tree Preservation Specifications Contents

Delineation of all areas located within a 100 year flood plain.

A tree survey overlay on the plat, which locates all trees identified by
diameter and species. Dead or diseased trees shall be identified. All tree
surveys for subdivisions involving the construction of roads or drainage
easements shall be performed by a licensed, registered forester and shall
have the accuracy of plus or minus three feet (+/-3');

Existing general soil Conditions throughout the parcel.

Existing contour data for the entire property with a vertical contour data at
an interval of no more than one foot for all areas to be disturbed by proposed
tree removal operations, extending for a distance of at least fifty feet beyond
the limits of such areas. Indicated elevations shall be based on United States
Geological Survey data.

Tree Preservation: Encroachment

If encroachment into a tree protection area occurs which causes irreparable
damage to the trees, the tree protection plan shall be revised to compensate
for the loss. Under no circumstances shall the developer be relieved of
responsibility for compliance with the provisions of this ordinance, nor shall
planned revision activities stop the Environmental Specialist from instituting
action for violation of this ordinance.

Disease or Insect Control Intent

The intent of this ordinance is to control epidemic tree diseases and insect
infestations that threaten the health of trees in the community.

Street Trees Intent

It is the intent of this ordinance to provide or cross reference regulations that
ensure the placement of trees along the street right-of-way for the purpose of
protecting against excessive noise, heat, and glare and to enhance the
attractiveness and value of property.

Typically, street trees should be planted inside property lines where they are
less likely to grow up into the power lines, to decrease the chance of motor
accidents, avoid conflict with street utilities and snow removal and to are
located where they would probably enjoy more favorable conditions for
growth.

Page 3 o£24
