OtLDINANCE # 03-X.X.X <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA cOUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AN AM'ENDM~ENT TO CHAPTER 7, WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE LICENSING, AND <br />PERMITS CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE.OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />An ordinance to amend Chapter 7, "Licensing and Permits" to add subchaPter 7.20, "Business Tenant <br />Certificate" <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Amendment <br /> <br />The following text is hereby incorporated into Chapter 7, .Licensing. and Permits. <br /> <br />Section .7.20 Business Tenant Certificate <br /> <br />Section 7.20.01 GeneraI Provisions <br /> <br />Subdivision 1: Purpose <br /> <br />It is the purpose of the City to maintain current information on businesses within its borders and the <br />operations they conduct within the City. This purpose will inform appropriate city departments of the <br />current occupancy and any occupancy changes within the building and allow them to update and review <br />records such as emergency contact lists, fire preplan, inspection, and hazardous materials. It will also <br />allow City departments to ensure that the business intending to operate complies with the State Building <br />Code, State Fire Code, City Code, and the use conforms to the building in which the business intends to <br />operate. The obtained information will also allow the Police Department to be notified of any hazards or <br />security issues that may affect the community. · <br /> <br />Subdivision 2. Definitions <br /> <br />The following words and phraSes, when used in this section, shall have the meanings set forth: <br /> <br />Person - Includes an individual, Partnership, corporation, or a.ny body of persons, whether incorporated <br />or .formed as an association or not. <br /> <br />Business - Any establishment, occupation, employment, or enterprise where .merchandise is <br />manufactured, exhibited or sold, or where services are offered for compensation. <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator - Community Development DePartment shall be charged with administering <br />this ordinance. <br /> <br />Subdivision 3. Application and ReqUired Information <br /> <br />Application for a Business Tenant Certificate. shall be made with the Zoning Administrator on a form <br />furnished by the. City. The application shall be filed with the Zoning Administrator 30 days prior to <br />intended occupancy, or 30 days prior to renewal date, which will commence 'on January 1 of each year. <br />All businesses currently operating within the City, prior to enactment of this section, are required to <br />make application within 30 days after adoption of this section. <br /> <br />-212- <br /> <br /> <br />
