Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson and <br />Cich. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberPeterson. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Cich to adopt <br />Resolution #89-8-208 calling for a hearing on proposed assessment for Improvement <br />Project #87-19 and #88-9 (Front Street N.W. improvements). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson and <br />Cich. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberPeterson. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />a) Availability of trees for purchase - <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann stated that a subsidiary of Noble Nursery is reducing their overstock and 2 <br />to 4 inch diameter trees normally valued at $200 each are available for purchase at <br />approximately $90 each. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley noted that in the last session, Legislature appropriated 1.3 million dollars for <br />park and recreation purposes. City Staff is currently considering applying for some of <br />those funds. If approved, the funds could be used to purchase trees to replace the <br />landscaping that was removed from the River's Bend park project to keep costs down. <br /> <br />b) Recycling recognition - <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley noted that the City received 3 awards from Anoka County for it's recycling <br />efforts; one for meeting the 1988 goal, one for surpassing the 1989 goal and one for the <br />woodchipping program. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember Cich to adjourn the <br />special City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Cich and <br />Pearson. Voting No: None.
