CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, September 26, 1989 at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gary Reimann <br />Councilmember Stephen F. DeLuca <br />Councilmember Alan Pearson <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br />Councilmember Richard Cich <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator David Hartley <br />Finance Officer Sandra Ashley <br />Community Development Director Mark Banwart <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />Merland Otto/Hakanson Anderson Associates <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann called the regular City Council meeting to order at 7:34 p.m. and led in the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Douglas Fountain - 15255 Garnet Street N.W. - Noted that it was advertised that the <br />Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) for the extension of 153rd Avenue N.W. <br />would be published in the Anoka Union on Friday, September 1, and it was not. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that according to the Environmental Quality Board, the local government <br />unit is to provide the newspaper with a press release regarding the availability of the EAW; <br />Ramsey provided the Anoka Union with two press releases; the Anoka Union determined <br />that the press release would only be published as a paid ad and if there was sufficient space. <br />City Staff determined that the EAW press release was the type of material that the Union <br />should be publishing at no charge as the City's reporting newspaper. City Staff decided <br />not to pursue publication of the press release in the Anoka Union as the availability of the <br />EAW was advertised in the City newsletter and on cable t.v. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember C/ch to approve the <br />agenda with the following addition: <br /> <br />Case # 18: Excess Liability Insurance <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, Cich <br />and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />City Council/September 26, 1989 <br /> Page 3 of 14 <br /> <br /> <br />
