BUDGET COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council Budget Committee conducted a meeting on Wednesday, <br />September 6, 1989 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., <br />Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br />Councilmember Stephen F. DeLuca <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator David Hartley <br />Finance Officer Sandra Ashley <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The Budget Committee meeting was called to order at 4:45 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as submitted. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Review 1990 Budget For Revenue And Financing Sources: <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council Budget Committee and reviewed the Revenue and Financing <br />Sources actuals for 1986, 1987, 1988 and budgeted for 1989 and projected for 1990 (see <br />Attachment A). <br /> <br />It was determined that there needs to be a line item added for insurance premimum tax (fire) <br />under State Intergovernmental Revenues in the 1990 projected. <br /> <br />It was determined that the MSA Construction line item under State Intergovernmental <br />Revenues in the 1990 projected should be deleted as it is addressed in a special fund on a <br />project by project basis. <br /> <br />It was determined that the State Aid Lawsuit line item under Local Government <br />Intergovernmental Revenues in the 1990 projected should be deleted. <br /> <br />The consensus of those present was that an item for further discussion is whether or not to <br />reduce the rate charged for assessment searches in order to be competitive with firms <br />offering the same services and thereby insure that the issue of unpaid fire and utility bills <br />are also addressed. <br /> <br />It was noted that at one time the City did receive funds towards the issuance of the Ramsey <br />Resident Newsletter. Sylvia Frolik was directed to provide Sandra Ashley with <br />information regarding a past agreement with the Anoka Hennepin School District whereby <br />the district contributed funds to the City to be used to defray the cost of mailing the Ramsey <br />Resident. <br /> <br />Budget Committee/September 6, 1989 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
