CC Regular Session 7. 3. <br />Meeting Date: 12/11/2012 <br />Submitted For: Shane Nelson By: Shane Nelson, Engineering/Public Works <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Consider Approval of Resolution for Agreement to State Transportation Fund Local Road Improvement Program, <br />Account 262, SAP 199-104-010 Grant Terms and Conditions <br />Background: <br />The City of Ramsey has previously been notified that we have received a Local Roads Improvement Projects <br />(LRIP) grant in the amount of $500,000 for the Sunwood Drive Realignment Project. MNDOT State Aid <br />Finance Department requires a Resolution from the City agreeing to finance any cost in excess of the grant. A <br />resolution to that affect is attached. <br />For some additional background information: <br />Over 158 projects totaling over $282 million were submitted for the $10 million available for the LRIP Funds. <br />The City of Ramsey's project was one of 28 selected. The average award was $357,142.90. The City of Ramsey <br />received the maximum amount possible. <br />Notification: <br />N/A <br />Observations: <br />In order to receive the funds, the City must first adopt the attached resolution. After adoption of the resolution, the <br />City must certify that is has a fee simple, leasehold and/or easement interest in the property (Exhibit C to the Grant <br />Agreement) and then enter into the Grant Agreement with the State. The permanent easement for the re -aligned <br />Sunwood Drive will be created upon filing of the COR TWO plat, and will allow the City to move forward with the <br />Grant Agreement. <br />Upon entering into the Grant Agreement with the State, the re -aligned portion of Sunwood Drive will be considered <br />Restricted Property for a period of 37.5 years. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends approval of Resolution # 12-12-XXX Resolution for Agreement to State Transportation Fund <br />Local Road Improvement Program, Account 262, SAP 199-104-010 Grant Terms and Conditions <br />Funding Source: <br />N/A - City staff is preparing the Resolution and Grant Agreement <br />Council Action: <br />Motion to approve Resolution # 12-12-XXX Resolution for Agreement to State Transportation Fund Local Road <br />Improvement Program, Account 262, SAP 199-104-010 Grant Terms and Conditions and authorizing the Mayor <br />and staff to enter into the Grant Agreement upon recording of the COR TWO plat. <br />Attachments <br />Resolution <br />Grant Agreement <br />
