CC Regular Session 7. 4. <br />Meeting Date: 12/11/2012 <br />Submitted For: Shane Nelson By: Shane Nelson, Engineering/Public Works <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Consider Approval of Resolution Ordering Plans and Specifications for Riverdale Drive Reconstruction and <br />Extension <br />Background: <br />The City of Ramsey has received a $702,000 grant to help in the funding of the reconstruction and extension of <br />Riverdale Drive from Armstrong Blvd (CSAH83) to Traprock Street. The project is another step forward <br />towards readiness for an Armstrong Blvd (CSAH83) Interchange with TH10. The project also eliminates access to <br />TH10 at Alpaca Street and modifies access at Traprock Street. Those access changes are safety related and are a <br />large reason the grant was awarded to the City of Ramsey along with promotion of a south frontage road to TH10. <br />Water and sanitary sewer will be installed under the extension portion from the east end of Riverdale Drive near <br />Alpaca Street to Traprock Street. <br />The $702,000 grant requires award of the contract by June 30th of 2013. Plans and specifications must be <br />prepared in order to meet the schedule. It is proposed that the City of Ramsey Engineering Department is the lead <br />agency with the overall responsibility for the design. Progress will be monitored to determine if any consultant <br />help is needed to complete the design portion of the project development within the time constraints. <br />Notification: <br />N/A <br />Observations: <br />As shown in the attached Project Management Plan, the design for this project will require a significant amount of <br />effort from the Engineering Department in the year 2013. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends approval of the Resolution 12-12-XXX Ordering Plans and Specifications for Riverdale Drive <br />Reconstruction and Extension between Armstrong Boulevard and Traprock Street. <br />Funding Source: <br />The funding sources identified for this project and based on the preliminary estimates are as follows: <br />$702,000 Cooperative Agreement Grant <br />$1,466,000 MSA Fund <br />$507,000 Sewer Fund <br />$273,000 Water Fund <br />$2,948,000 Total <br />Council Action: <br />Motion to approve Resolution 12-12-XXX Ordering Plans and Specifications for Riverdale Drive Reconstruction <br />and Extension between Armstrong Boulevard and Traprock Street. <br />Attachments <br />
