Finance Committee <br />Meeting Date: 01/22/2013 <br />By: Diana Lund, Finance <br />4. 1. <br />Title: <br />Nominate Chair and Vice -Chair for Finance Committee and Consider Amendments to the Duties of the Finance <br />Committee Work Plan <br />Background: <br />Purpose of the Finance Committee: The City of Ramsey has a responsibility to its citizens to carefully account <br />for public funds, to manage municipal finances wisely, and to plan the adequate funding of services desired by the <br />public, including the provision and maintenance of public facilities. The City also has the responsibility to its <br />citizens to provide both short-term and long -term future financial stability. The City must ensure that it is capable <br />of adequately funding and providing local government services needed by the community. <br />The first step of the Finance Committee each calendar year is the nomination of a Chair and Vice - Chair. <br />To meet the purpose of the Finance Committee as outlined above, a resolution was created in 2009 that Established <br />the duties of the Finance Committee.
