October 25, 2012 I Volume 6 I Issue 20 <br />Zoning Bulletin <br />oning --ws from Around the ation <br />CALIFORNIA <br />Recently, the California State Assembly "passed new legislation that <br />would assure legal status for small-scale cottage industries that sell <br />baked goods and other `non -potentially hazardous' food items produced <br />in home kitchens." The California Homemade Food Act (AB 1616), <br />which takes effect in January, allows home cooks to make and sell a <br />----wide range of products "without the need to comply with the zoning <br />and regulatory measures that govern larger producers and producers of <br />meat and dairy products specifically omitted from this law." <br />Source: yourolivebranch.org; http://news.yourolivebranch.org <br />CONNECTICUT <br />Effective October 1, 2012, a new state law allows "the medicinal use <br />of marijuana by Connecticut residents 18 or older suffering from can- <br />cer, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord <br />injuries, epilepsy, Crohn's Disease, post -traumatic stress or cachexia <br />(wasting syndrome).
