The senior officer is 1o stay in the City. <br /> <br />On mutual aid calls there will be five (5) people on a pumper and three (3) on a tanker <br />at requesting department's discretion, <br /> <br />Cross lays at scene will remain charged until the las! thing if they are used. <br /> <br />All drivers will remain with their unit unless told to do otherwise by the officer in <br />charge, <br /> <br />There will be no riding on the back of any vehicle responding to or coming from any <br />emergency scene while the vehicle is on a public roadway. <br /> <br />There will be a person walking in front of all apparatus when the unit is not on a <br />roadway. <br /> <br />All personnel will respond to the fire station for calls unless they have been instructed <br />to do otherwise. <br /> <br />All diesel trucks will be allowed to run a short time before they roll on a call. They <br />should run for five minutes at idle before shut down. <br /> <br />The address must be written on the blackboard and indicated on the map before units <br />respond. <br /> <br />All turnout gear will be worn by all fire personnel until the officer in charge advises to <br />do otherwise. <br /> <br />In search and rescue, always stay to the right unless there is a good reason to do <br />otherwise. <br /> <br />Never enter a burning or hazardous structure unless there are two (2) or more fire <br />personnel with lifeline and proper equipment to do the job. <br /> <br />Always have a backup person when backing a vehicle. <br /> <br />The person in captain's chair will be in charge of scenes, but if he wishes to give <br />command to another officer, this must be passed on to all other personnel. <br /> <br />All structure fires will be an interior attack unless too involved to go in. This is at the <br />discretion of the officer in charge. <br /> <br />First unit on the scene will advise what the situation is, such as flames or smoke <br />showing, working fire in structure, etc. <br /> <br /> <br />
