RAMSEY FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />PERSONNEL STANDARDS <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />21. <br /> <br />Any individual with a complaint or conflict of Department policy shall discuss it with the <br />Chief or appropriate officer at the earliest convenience to avoid ill feelings in the <br />Deparlment. <br /> <br />22. <br /> <br />Officers and fire fighters shall immediately report to their superior officer any accident <br />or injury to themselves. Make sure an accident report form is made out. <br /> <br />23. Medical leave and/or light duty will require a doctor's verification. <br /> <br />Medicals (leave and light duty) will have to go through the Personnel Committee. <br />For medical leave or light duty, a written request will be required, The request <br />must be given to the personnel chairperson or designee and will be acted on <br />within thirty (30) days. You will be expected to attend meetings, drills and fire <br />calls with certain restrictions depending on the individual case. A doctor's <br />verification will be required of medical situations followed by a doctor's release <br />to put a person back on full duty. The medical light duty will follow the <br />guidelines set forth under Light Duty of Council Meeting held on 10/8/84; this <br />being that you will only receive one-fourth (1/4) of your point pay while on <br />light duty. <br /> <br />24. <br /> <br />No personnel shall absent themselves from fires or other assigned duties without <br />permission or without being relieved by the officer in charge. <br /> <br />25. <br /> <br />Every fire fighter or officer shall promptly report to their superior officer and to the <br />administrative office any change of address, telephone number or work shift within two <br />(2) days. <br /> <br />26. <br /> <br />Fire fighters shall promptly report the loss or finding of toots or equipment at fires to <br />their superior officer. <br /> <br />27. <br /> <br />In emergencies, any fire fighter or officer may be suspended by a superior officer for <br />flagrant violations of the Department rules and regulations. Such suspensions, together <br />with all details, shall be reported without delay to the Chief. <br /> <br />28. <br /> <br />Hair and facial hair shall not be worn in such a fashion as to interfere with protective <br />equipment. Mustaches are not to be worn below the upper lip and sideburns not to extend <br />below the ear. <br /> <br />29. All fire fighters will receive proper training on all new pieces of equipment. <br /> <br />30. <br /> <br />All fire fighters shall be expected to serve on committees and attend seventy-five <br />percent (75%) of committee meetings. All fire fighters shall also be expected to <br />participate in the fire fighting organizations. <br /> <br /> <br />
