Ramsey Fire Department <br />Year End Report for 2012 <br />Emergency Response <br />2012 activity witnessed a slight decrease in activity as compared to 2011. Although our community experienced a <br />very hazardous wild land fire threat in the spring, the FD only responded to a total of 16 actual wild land fires. The <br />City of Ramsey experienced a total of 9 structure fires with Nowthen having 2 with one of those unfortunately <br />resulting in a resident death. <br />• Total calls tallied 447, this compares to 479 in 2010, 453 in 2009, 491 in 2008, and 489 in 2007. <br />• Personal Injury Accidents (PI's), as in the past, represented the largest response with 71 or 16% of the <br />total. <br />• Response to Alarms was 61 or 14% of the total. <br />• Illegal Burning totaled 50 responses or 11% of the total. <br />• Responses in Nowthen totaled 76 which are included in the 447 total. <br />Ramsey Fire, in both Ramsey and Nowthen, continues to utilize a Duty Officer response for lower priority calls. <br />With this response, one person responds to the call vs. full station response.
