CITY COUNCIL CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey City Council conducted a special meeting on Tuesday, November 20, 1990 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard Northwest, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Mayor Gary Reimann Councilmember Richard Cich Councilmember Stephen F. DeLuca Councilmember Alan Pearson Councilmember Kenneth Peterson Also Present: City Administrator David Hartley Finance Officer Sandra Ashley CALL TO ORDER Mayor Reimann called the special meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. and led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. CITIZEN INPUT None. Mayor Reimann adjourned the special meeting of the City Council at 7:03 p.m. in order to conduct the following public heating: Proposed 1991 General Fund Budget and Payable 1991 Property Tax Levy Mayor Reimann called the regular meeting back to order at 8:43 p.m. after a recess. COUNCIL BUSINESS Case #1: Proposed 1991 General Fund Budget and Payable 1991 Property Tax Levy. City Administrator David Hartley stated that it would be most appropriate to adopt the resolution setting the Payable 1991 Property Tax Levy first and then the resolution setting the 1991 General Fund Budget as one is contingent upon the other. Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Mayor Reimann to adopt Resolution #90-11-350 setting the Payable 1991 Property Tax Levy. Further discussion. Councilmember Pearson asked what would happen if City Council did not pass the resolution. Mr. Hartley stated that it would result in not levying for taxes and would reduce the revenue by approximately $1,051,000. Therefore, the City would not be able to make any purchases, we would lose two thirds or more of staff, we would not be City Council / November 20, 1990 Page 1 of 3
