MEMORANDUM

4)

5)

6)

Based on discussion at the meeting, $30,000 is to be added
to the capital outlay request for public works. It is estimated this
would be the cost of a storage shed for the salt and salt/sand
mixture required. In further discussion it was pointed out the
City should probably provide for same in 1990, and designate
funding from 1991 if other sources in 1990 are not available.

Snow and Ice Removal (Sub-function #3312)

If the two requested positions are funded for street
maintenance in 1991, the $2,033.86 budget request for driver and
wing (part-time temporary) would no longer be applicable.

Engineering (Sub-function #3301)

When the budget is developed for the Water/Sewer fund,
$80.00 for membership in the American Water Works Assn.
should be included.

Miscellaneous

When the budget is developed for K.A.B. and other
special revenue funds, required funding for the brush chipping
program should be reviewed as grant money for this program
will no longer be available in 1991.

The City Administrator stated that overtime for regular
employees in non-emergency positions should be funded by
one pool of funds (not specifically allocated to departments) that
could be used as the needs arises within the various functions. Ail
such overtime would require advance approval of the City
Administrator to provide the allocation of funds for same.

The City Administrator reviewed the community relation
functions that are needed and suggested these functions could be
accomplished by a new position funded at 3/4 time.

A general discussion was held regarding space needs and the
City Administrator stated he will be requesting funding for rental
of additional office space in 1991. This request for funding has not
previously been included in the budget requests.

City of Ramsey - Page 2
