Mr. Raatikka informed hirr the life expectancy is approximately 20 years with routine maintenance. <br /> <br />Ronald Ginsberg - stated he has a gravel driveway and he wanted to know if he had to restore it <br />after the improvements would be done on the road. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka answered that he did not have to restore his drivew~~ ;is it was gravel - if il was <br />bituminous, he'd trove to match the level of the road. <br /> <br />Ronald Ginsberg - also inquired about the weight restrictions. <br /> <br />Mr. Raati 'kka informed Ron Ginsberg that the road is proposed to be designed at a 7 ton weight <br />limit. <br /> <br />Oliver Wanstrom, 18056 Waco Drive, Ramsey - stated money is not a fluent thing; $400 plus <br />dollars a year for 10 years was a large sum of money to him. He said after the initial cost of <br />surfacing the road, then he'd have to pay in 5 or 6 years for sealcoating. He stated some people <br />said the property value would go up with the paved roads, but he feels if the value goes up so does <br />the real estate taxes and that would mean more money out of his pocket. He also felt the budgel <br />crunch would hit soon and cities wouldn't be getting state aid which meant the taxes would have to <br />be raised again. He said to keep in mind the new high school in two years - that means more <br />taxing - then the next year teachers and equipmen! will be needed - taxes raised again. He felt the <br />"crunch" is coming soon and he doesn't want $480.47 a year coming out of pocket nov,,. He said <br />he has two 5 acre parcels and he decided to sell one when he heard there was a possibility of this <br />project coming through. He had a buyer for it until the buyer found out about the proposed <br />improvements and the added taxes to the property. He also had concerns regarding the increased <br />speed of the traffic on paved roads. He remarked how he moved to Ramsey for the country <br />atmosphere but with all the improvement projects going on, it was fast becoming more like city <br />life again. If there were to be some improvements being made, he suggested having natural gas <br />come through the CiB, instead. <br /> <br />Jean Crosby; 18242 Ventre St., Burns - the streets aren't deeded to the City for easement purposes - <br />the City never accepted them. If they got to be in extremely bad condition, could the City sa)' it's <br />your problem and slap on a private easement. <br /> <br />Dennis Berg, Burns Township Boardmember, informed Ms. Crosby that the City has accepted the <br />roads by it's actions - residents own the land, but the road is public. <br /> <br />Mary Smith, 18179 Waco Street, Bums - commented she was in support of the proposed project. <br />She is a realtor and the property value v`,ill go up. There will be an increase in taxation but the <br />improvements to the streets are inevitable so we ma)' as well pay now before the cost increases. It <br />is her feelings that it is very important to keep property values up. <br /> <br />Laurel Sohns, 18005 Waco Street, Ramsey - asked what is considered a unit and how it is <br />determined that there are 31. <br /> <br />Mr. Raati 'kka stated a unit was any buildable lot or an)' new lot at least 10 acres in size. <br /> <br />Laurel Sohns - stated she lives at the end of Waco and has a problem paying that amount of money <br />when she only has one acre and other property owners have a lot more land.
