Further Discussion: Doug Petty stated that he will be. meeting with the Anoka County
Board of Commissioners in two weeks and needs Ramsey's letter of support ~y that time.
Mayor Reimann directed that the letter of support also note that Anoka Count)' contributed
$400,000 each to the Blaine and Anoka arenas and NACAC's proposal deserves the same
consideration.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson and
Cich. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberPeterson.

Case #2:

Approval Of Metes And Bounds Subdivision; Case Of Sidney
V. Schaumburg And Marlys M. Schaumburg:

Sidney and Marlys Schaumburg were present.

Mr. Hartley stated that the subject property proposed for metes and bounds subdivision is
proposed to be a part of the proposed Chestnut Hills Addition. Approval of this metes and
bounds subdivision will not violate the Council's policy to require platting because this
particular parcel will be further subdivided through the normal platting process of Chestnut
Hills Addition.

Motion by Councitmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Cich to approve the
metes and bounds sul:xtivision of the West 440' of the South 330' of the Southwest Quarter
of the Northeast Quarter of Section 26, Township 32, Range 25, Anoka County,
Minnesota, Further, that the subdivision be recorded with the condition that no building
permits may be issued for the subject property until it is properly platted.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson and
Cich. VotingNo: None. Absent: CouncilmemberPeterson.

Case #3: Adopt Ordinance Changing Front Street N.W. To Riverdale
Drive N.W.:

Mr. Ha_riley recalled that Council in~'oduced an ordinance to change Front Street N.W. to
Riverdale Drive N.W. on March 27, 1990.

Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to adopt
Ordinance ~0-06 chan~ng Front Street N.W. to Riverdale Drive N.W.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Pearson, Cich and
DeLuca~ Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberPeterson.

Case #4: Optical Scan Units For Voting:

Mr. Hartley recalled that on March 27, 1990, CounciI reviewed and disapproved Anoka
County's decision to go to optical scan units for voting. Mr. Hartley noted that the
equipment used to count the punch card system of ballots is owned by Anoka County and it
is apparent that system will be elinfinated. For that reason, City Council may wish to
reconsider entering into a joint powers a~eement for the purpose of purchasing optical
scan equipment. Mr. Hartlev noted that originally, the plan was to change over to the
optical scan units in 1992; cities are just receiving notice of this change in plan within the
last two months.

City Council/April I0, 1990
