CASE #2

REZONING OF PROPERTY TO HEAVY INDUSTRY
by James Gromberg, Project Manager

Background:

The Chairman of the Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission has requested input from
the Economic Development Commission as to the rezoning of the area between Sunfish
Lake Blvd. N,W. and Ramsey Blvd. N.W. to a Heavy Industry District. Attached is a map
showing the area under consideration for zoning.

The Economic Development Commission must keep in mind that the rezoning should not
exclude any of the existing businesses in this area, so the Heavy Industry zoning must
allow manufacturing.

The rezoning of this area as Heavy Industry would also require the development of a
Heavy Industry District in Ramsey's zoning ordinance.

The Planning and Zoning Commission would recommend allotting additional property
further west in the City for adult uses to fulfill the need for that type of zoning space.

Also attached is the current zoning requirements for Industrial Zoning (I-1) in the City
of Ramsey.

Commission Action:

Submit your recommendation to the Planning and Zoning Commission concerning the
rezoning of the affected area.

Review Checklist:

City Administrator
City Attorney
City Engineer
Consulting Engineer
Public Works Supervisor

X

Chief of Police
Finance Officer
Planning & Zoning Commission
Park & Recreation Commission
Project Manager

X
