Defined ber,afit <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />Except as otherwise provided in these By-Laws, Robert's Rules of Order <br />(Revised Edition), shall govern the conduct of the meeting. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. DEBTS PROHIBITED <br /> <br />No officer or member of this Association shall contract any debt for the same unless <br />authorized by the Board of Trustees. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. QUORUM <br /> <br />50% of the active Association members in good standing shall constitute a quorum. <br />Association members who are members of the <br /> <br />Ramsey Fire Department will be presumed to be "active" Association members. Retired <br />Association members who fail to attend the annual Association business meeting, or <br />two or more consecutive Association special business meetings will be deemed <br />"inactive" Association members. Attendance at the next special or regular Association <br />meeting shall renew active membership. <br /> <br />The By-Laws of this association may be amended as follows: <br /> Each member shall receive a written copy of the proposed amendment at least <br /> 30 days prior to any action being taken on the proposal. A copy of the proposal <br /> shall be mailed to members not present at a meeting during which the proposal <br /> was presented. <br /> After proper call, at any regular or special meeting of this Association, voting on <br /> any proposed amendment shall be in order. <br /> A simple majority of the members present and voting shall be sufficient to amend <br /> the By-Laws provided, however, that a quorum is present at the time the vote is <br /> taken. <br /> Notwithstanding the above procedures, the By-Laws of this association may be <br /> amended upon recommendation of the Board, at any regular or special meeting <br /> of this Association, if a unanimous vote is cast approving the proposed <br /> amendment by all members present at the meeting provided, however, that a <br /> <br />RELIEF ASSN.
