COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #3: Drug And Alcohol Testing Policy For Job Applicants: <br /> <br />Kay McAloney recalled that at the request of City Attorney William Goodrich on January <br />23, City Council tabled adoption of the Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy until January 2z[, <br />1990. 'Kay stated that the proposed Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy has been reviewed <br />and revised by Mr. Goodrich. Kay proceeded to review the proposed policy with Council. <br />Kay stated that the City Attorney is recommending that the applicability of the proposed <br />policy include all primary job applicants, not just those in safety sensitive areas. Council <br />agreed with Mr. Goodrich's recommendation. <br /> <br />Upon suggestions from Chief Auspos and City Administrator Hartley, Council a~eed that <br />references to 'ma3" in Sections 4 and 5.a should be revised to 'shall'. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Cich to adopt the <br />Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy for Job Applicants, as amended. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, Cich <br />and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #1: lnlerview For Patrol Officers (Continued): <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cich and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to declare <br />satisfactory interviews with Tom Bole and Tim Dw yer for Patrol Officer positions and <br />authorize offers of employment to same at 79% of top patrol rate and contingent upon <br />acceptable background investigations and satisfactory physical and psychological <br />examinations and drug and alcohol testing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, Cich <br />and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to adjourn <br />the special City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, Cich <br />and Peterson.
