Streets and highways <br /> A county board resolution allowing <br />snowmobile operation everywhere on <br />county highways would be inconsist- <br />ent with the statute and beyond the <br />scope of subdivision 3 of this section. <br />0p. Gen., 1003, Feb. 9, 1968. <br /> <br /> Laws 1967, chapter 876, relating to <br />regulation of snowmobiles does not <br />prohibit the operation of a snowmo- <br />bile on it street or highway other <br />than an interstate highway, freeway, <br />trunk or county state aid highway. <br />Id. <br /> <br /> Neither the Commissioner of High- <br />ways nor local authorities would be <br />authorized to prohibit the operation <br />of snowmobiles on streets or high- <br />ways. Id. <br /> <br /> A snowmobile would be a motor <br />vehicle, and the operator would be <br />required to have a valid driver's li- <br />cense in order to operate the snow- <br />mobile upon a street or highway, and <br />the term street or highway would in- <br />clude ditch bottoms and outer slopes <br />as well as the traveled portion of the <br />highway. Id. <br /> <br /> A snowmobile would be subject to <br />the provisions of § 169.01 et seq. <br />when operated upon a street or high- <br />way. Id. <br /> <br />5.
