Case #6: <br /> <br />Mississippi ~Irail Corridor Updale And Review Of Alternative <br />Ali gnments: <br /> <br />Mr. Otto recalled that on December 19, 1989, Council approved a pl;m and introduced an <br />ordinance to establish general alignment and trail widths for the Mississippi Corridor Trail. <br />Per Council direction, the proposed ordinance was submitted to Metro Council for <br />comments prior to adoption; Metro Council has responded favorably to the proposed <br />ordinance. Mr. Otto recommended adoption of the ordinance, noting that it would require a <br />4/5 vot{' of Council. <br /> <br />Mr. H~:-tie3' indicated that the decision is Councilmember Pearson's, but City Staff does <br />not fee there is a conflict of interest issue if he participates in voting on the proposed <br />ordinance for the Mississippi Trail Corridor. <br /> <br />Motion by Councihnember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to adopt <br />Ordinance #90-2 establishing general alignment and widths for the proposed Mississippi <br />River Trail Corridor pursuant to recommendations offered by the Anoka County <br />Department of Parks and Recreation and Metropolitan Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann called for a roll call vote: <br /> <br />Counciln]ember Peterson - Aye <br />Councilmember Pearson - Abstain <br />Mayor Reimann - Aye <br />Councilmember DeLuca - Aye <br />Councilmember Cich - Aye <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Case #7: Proposed Alcohol And Drug Testing Policy For Job <br /> Applicants: <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that there are some minor revisions to be made to the proposed <br />Alcohol and Drug Testing Policy. Those revisions being considered are placing a time limit <br />on ineligibility for employment consideration based on prior refusal to test and not <br />requiring testing of all applicants, only those made a primary offer for employment. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley noted that City Staff would like the policy in place prior to hiring any new <br />employees. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cich and seconded by Councitmember Pearson to table <br />approval of the proposed Alcohol and Drug Testing Policy until the special City Council <br />meeting scheduled for January 24, 1990. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, Cich <br />and Peterson.
