Councilmember Pearson inquired about the impact of existing ordinances on the establishment <br />and/or operation of an adult bookstore. Mr, Goodrich indicated that existing ordinances do indeed <br />address obscene behnvior but do not address issues such as zoning. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich then read aloud an ordinance placing a moratorium on the siting of adult bookstores <br />as defined herein within any zoning district of the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca inquired about the wisdom of adding to the moratorium all other sex <br />related businesses. Mr. Goodrich responded that it would be appropriate to handle those matters at <br />a regular Council meeting since the threat of such a violation is not imminent. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to adopt Ordinance <br />#90-7 placing a moratorium on the siting of adult bookstores as defined within an>, zoning district <br />of the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson and Cich. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberPeterson. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca requested that City Attorney Goodrich investigate the claims of the City of <br />Hutchinson, that it is a pornography-free City. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to adjourn the <br />special emergency meeting of the City Council. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Pearson, DeLuca and Cich. <br />VotingNo: None.
