CASE # z

REVIEW DRAFT PARK USER FEES, TOURNAMENT FEES
AND POLICIES
By: Mark Boos, Parks/Utilities Coordinator

Background:

At several of the Park and Recreation meetings over the last year, the issue of park user fees and
softball tournament fees has been raised. In April of this year, I reviewed our surrounding
communities park user rates and spoke to their park departments regarding this matter. Armed
with this information and discussions of this Commission's September 12, 1990 meeting, staff has
compiled a draft of policies, procedures and fee structure for your discussion and/or forwarding to
City Council for their consideration.

Some questions to be addressed:

Does the City want to be involved with providing a beer permit2 If not, is a $100.00 fee
per field too much?

B. What should the procedure or circumstances be for approving a beer permit?

Do we want to actively seek softball tournaments to defray costs of maintenance and to
make more use of our facilities?

Do

Our current Facility Use Permit is included on page __
dealing with temporary non-intoxicating malt liquors.

and the City of Anoka's City Code

Commission Action:

Based on discussion.

Review Checklist:

Park and Recreation Commission
Parks/Utilities Coordinator
Finance Officer
Police Chief
City Administrator
City Engineer

PR: 10/11/90
