COMMISSION BUSIHESS ~ SchleDer Park imDrovemen! rer~uest (Horse ArenaS. Merland Otto explained that he received a letter in September from the Ramsey Ranger Saddle Club asking that some repairs be made to lhe Traproct,, Horse Arena. Sharon Niles, 15415 St. Francis Boulevard, explained that about 25 of the fence posts are broken and there are a law lance boards that need replacing. She also explained that in the past they have done the work lhemselves with the materials being supplied by the City. She also stated that the repairs would not need to be done until spring. Chairman Hetland asked Mr. Otto if there was any money in the buclget set aside for these repairs. Medand Otto said thal the 1991 budget did nol allocate money for any park capital improvements. Mark Boos, Parks and Utilities Coordinator, suggested contacting Cindy Foster, Anoka Electric Cooperative, and inquire il they have any damaged telephone poles they would be willing to donate to the City. He explained these poles could be cut down and used as fencing posts. Ms. Niles informed the Commission that the Ramsay Ranger Saddle Club is asking for horse tanks to be donated which would eliminate the need for a well. The Club could fill the water tanks before a show and empty them afterwards. She also asked if it would be possible to get some paint for the fence once it is repaired. Chairman Hetland suggested that Mark Boos contact Cindy Foster regarding the telephone poles and also check on getting some paint. Case #1. KAB Adppt A P~rk Pro~Iram. Kathi Peterson was unable to be present to report to the Commission regarding an Adopt A Park Program, however, there were handouts regarding this project made available for the Commission to review. Commissioner Swokowski suggesting finding out what kind of interest there is in an Adopt A Park Program. Chairman Hetland stated that he would like to see what other Cities are doing with an Adopt a Park Program. The consensus ol the Commission was to table this issue until next month and invite Kathi Peterson to be present to answer questions. Chairman Hetland suggested reviewing a park a month and inviting the surrounding residents to attend the meeting and report on what they would like to see accomplished in their park.
