COUNTRYSIDE PARK REVIEW
By= Merland Otto

CASE #1

Background:

Countryside Park (for lack of an adopted name) is situated in the
northwest part of the City in Sorteberg 6th Addition. A notice to
residents and fact sheet are attached which outline pertinent
information on the, as yet, undeveloped park.

The 1990 parks budget authorized an expenditure of $7,500 for park
improvements. It was determined that these funds (through meetings
with the residents) would best be utilized by acquiring playground
equipment. That equipment has recently been ordered by the City
Engineer and will be installed in 1991.

A thumbnail sketch of future park development was created at the
meeting with residents. The sketch indicates that future
development would include a softball field, pull in parking, tot
lot and general play area.

Observation:

There may be a potential to provide a local skating rink with use
of the retention basin in the southwest corner of the park.

No funds are allocated for park improvements in the 1991 parks
budget at this point.

Notices of this review meeting
Countryside Estates, Windsorwood,
Tranby Terrace.

were sent to residents of
Wildwood, Sorteberg 6th and

commission Action:

Will be based on your discussion.

Review Checklist:

City Administrator
City Engineer
Parks Coordinator

PARKS: 12/13/90
