Karat: <br /> <br /> We have reviewed your permit application for a Model 2500 Shaffer <br /> aluminum sweating furnace, a DAPI aluminum sweating furnace, .and <br /> a W.W.Sly Pactecon model PC baghouse in Ramsey in Anoka Coun~y._:~:!''.~'''!''.... <br />' It.is our understanding that the Shaffer furnace will be <br /> permanently removed from service and-that the Sly baghouse will <br /> be used to control particulate emissions from-the DAPI furnace <br /> a continuous basis. Based.ion. oUr review of your appli'cation, 'the <br /> Air Quality. Division staff 'has c~luded that the potential to <br /> emit.from your.facility for each one of the criteria pollutants <br /> is less'than 25 tons per year. Under Minnesota Rule 7001.12.10 <br /> Subpart 2.A, your facility is exempted from obtaining an air <br /> emission permit· from.the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. <br /> <br />:.=~..~...~..' permit application for permit review. 'For your type of facility, the particulate matter air' <br /> standards (Minn. Rules 7005.0450-7.005.0520), the rules for <br /> fugitive 'emissions (Minn. Rules 7005.0550), the rules for odorous <br /> emissions (Minn. Rule 7005.0900-7005.0980), and the rules 'for <br /> visible emissions (Minn. Rule 7005.1120.) would apply. The rule <br /> for fugitive emissions requires that avoidable amounts of " <br /> particulate matter shall not be allowed to become airborne. The' <br /> rule for'odorous emissions states that you cannot operate your <br /> facility in excess of the allowable odor emission limits as <br /> specified in the rule.
