115A: WASTE MANAGEMENT ACT <br /> <br />115A.01 [CITATION.] <br /> <br /> Sect~ons-~kSAvg}-t~-~SAvg~ Chapter l!5A shall be known as <br />the waste management act of-k988. <br /> <br /> l15A. O2 [LEGISLATIVE DECLARATION OF POLICY; PURPOSES. ] <br /> <br /> (a) It is the goal of se~ons-~5~vu~-~-===~v~z ~,~,1= <br />chapter to improve waste management in the state to serve the <br />following purposes: <br /> <br />Reduction in waste generated; <br /> <br /> %B~ (2) Separation and recovery of materials and energy <br />from waste; <br /> <br /> %c~ ~3) Reduction in indiscriminate dependence on disposal <br />of waste; <br /> <br /> %~ ~(~} Coordination of solid waste management among <br />political subdivisions; and <br /> <br /> %e~ (5.) Orderly and deliberate development and financial <br />security of waste facilities including disposal facilities. <br /> <br /> (b) The waste management goal of the state is to foster an <br />integrated waste management system in a manner appropriate to <br />the characteristics of the waste stream. The following waste <br /> <br />manacement .practices are in order of preference: <br /> <br />waste reduction and reuse; <br /> <br /> (2) waste recycling and yard waste composting; <br /> <br /> (3} resource recovery through mixed municipal solid waste <br />composting or incineration; and <br /> <br />(4) land disposal. <br /> <br />I15A.03 [DEFINITIONS.] <br /> <br /> Subdivision 1. For the purposes of this chapter, the terms <br />defined in this section have the meanings given them, unless the <br />context requires otherwise. <br /> <br />Subd. 2.
