MUNICIPAL STATE AID STREET SYSTEM <br />By: Pete Raatikka, City Engineer <br /> <br />CASE # 1 <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Each year the city is required to certify its mileage and update its <br />Municipal State Aid Street (MSAS) system. Following the certification <br />of mileage as of December 31, 1988, the City is eligible for an <br />additional designation of approximately one and one third miles to its <br />MSAS system. <br /> <br />The Road and Bridge Committee consisting of Councilmember A1 Sorteberg <br />and A1 Pearson, Public Works Superintendent Merle Mevissen and myself <br />met on December 16, 1988 to review the MSAS system. It was the <br />consensus of the committee to pursue a connection through the City of <br />Anoka to the Thurston Avenue railroad overpass as part of the MSAS <br />system. The committee also recommended that the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission review the City's MSAS system to determine what changes or <br />additions should be made. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed for our information: <br /> <br />a) MSAS map. <br />b) Figure 10, Transportation Plan from the 1987 Ramsey T.H. 10 <br /> Corridor Study. <br /> <br />will be present at your meeting to review the MSAS system. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />Action will be based on your review and discussion. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />Administrator <br />Attorney <br />Engineer <br />Comm.
