Councihnember Kurak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #03-06-163 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A REORGANIZATION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, staff is recommending that the City Council consider reorganization of the Public Works Department; and WHEREAS, the operational and fiscal impacts of the proposed reorganization have been considered; and WHEREAS, there would be no fiscal impact to the budget if the staff recommendation is accepted; and WHEREAS, the proposed reorganization would more clearly define the roll of the second in command in the Public Works Department and would also provide increased supervision, particularly in the absence of the Public Works Director; and WHEREAS, the Personnel Committee has reviewed the request for reorganization and, along with staff, recommends the proposed changes to the City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: l) The City Council authorizes the reorganization of the Public Works Department by creating an Assistant Public Works Director position. 2) Pending approval of Recommendation #1, the City Council authorizes the promotion of Brian Olson to the position of Assistant Public Works Director effective June 25, 2003 with a six-month probationary period. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Pearson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec Councilmember Kurak Councilmember Pearson Councilmember Cook Councihnember Strommen Councilmember Zimmerman and the following voted against the same: NOlle
