Planning Commission and other interested Boards and Commissions as part of their <br />agenda process. Attached to the Weekly Update is the Development Update. <br />Engineering <br />• Engineering department staff continues to work on Riverdale Drive. We are currently <br />reviewing internal comments and preparing the specifications. We also continue to field <br />questions, review plans, prepare estimates and coordinate activities for the active <br />development projects that we have in the City (Seasons of Ramsey, Northgate <br />Performing Arts, COR TWO). We have received the road ratings from public works and <br />are currently planning the seal coat project for 2013. <br />Fire <br />• Notable Responses <br />o 3/21- Fire in oven in the 5300 block of 142 Circle. Unit arrived to a fire out <br />situation. Assisted homeowner with moving oven outside. <br />o 3/21- Smell of gas in the 18200 block of Nowthen Blvd. Unit arrived to find <br />strong smell of propane coming from a reported known squatters house. Crew <br />entered home to find the copper lines coming from the homes propane supply cut <br />and removed. Crew shut supply off at the tank and ventilated home. <br />o 3/24- P.I. accident at the intersection of Viking Blvd and Hwy 47. Minor injuries. <br />Crew assisted with patient care and roadway clean up. <br />o 3/27- P.I. accident at the intersection of Armstrong Blvd and Alpine Drive. One <br />patient complaining of head injuries and was transported. Crew assisted with <br />patient care and traffic control. <br />HR <br />• The recruitment for Economic Development Manager has closed and we are scheduling <br />interviews for next week. Fourteen applications were received. <br />Police <br />• Just Sitting Here. Officers were dispatched to a male trying to start fights in a Ramsey <br />bar. Upon arrival, officers located the male party and another male in a vehicle in the <br />parking lot. When officers approached the vehicle they could see the passenger snorting <br />a powdery white substance. Both parties were removed from the vehicle. The driver of <br />the vehicle appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. He failed field <br />sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI. A subsequent test of the driver showed a .21 <br />BAC. The passenger was arrested for felony narcotics possession. Both parties were <br />booked into jail. <br />• PD Training. Ramsey officers received refresher training in the use of the Taser this <br />past week. The training is required as part of the Use of Force training mandated by the <br />MN POST Board. Officers also trained in the area of Active Shooter this week. The <br />training took place in the VA Clinic in a coordinated effort with the VA Police.
