Motion by Committee Member Max and seconded by Committee Member Connolly to approve <br />the EPTF meeting minutes dated May 5, 2003, with the following corrections: <br /> <br />Action Items, 8th Paragraph, amend text to reflect that only Mr. Reeve will be <br />contacted regarding whether or not he wishes to continue to serve of the EPTF. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson McDilda, Committee Members Connolly and Max. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Committee Members Sitz, Reeve and Dvorak. <br /> <br />Committee Member Sitz arrived at this time. <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member Max and seconded by Committee Member Connolly to approve <br />the EPTF meeting minutes dated May 15, 2003, with the following correction: <br /> <br />1. Approval of Agenda: vote should be changed to reflect that Mr. Max was present <br /> and Mr. Reeve was absent. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson McDilda, Committee Members Connolly, Max and <br />Sitz. Voting No: None. Absent: Committee Members Reeve and Dvorak. <br /> <br />Ms. Sitz noted that she has provided the Library and the University Extension Office with copies <br />of Ramsey's Tree Book. <br /> <br />TASK FORCE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1 <br /> <br />Absentees and Next Steps <br /> <br />Mr. McDilda noted that even though the EPTF is a volunteer group, there are members with a <br />fair number of absentees. It was noted that Sue Dvorak has extenuating circumstances and her <br />absences are excused. <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member Max and seconded by Committee Member Sitz to recommend <br />that City Council change the Planning Commission's appointment to the EPTF from a voting <br />status to a liaison status, as this arrangement would be more consistent with the City Council and <br />Park Commission liaison arrangement. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson McDilda, Committee Members Max, Sitz, and <br />Connolly. Voting No: None. Absent: Committee Members Reeve and Dvorak. <br /> <br />General consensus was that with the completion of the Tree Preservation ordinance, all members <br />of the EPTF should take the time to review their continued commitment to the Task Force prior <br />to going onto the next project. <br /> <br />Case #2 <br /> <br />Review Final Draft of Proposed Tree Preservation Ordinance <br /> <br />Ms. Sitz inquired as to whether or not reconsideration should be given to specifically stating in <br />this ordinance that it is 'not intended to be punitive'. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda stated that there are costs associated with compliance, and it needs to be <br />clearly stated that the ordinance is not meant to be punitive. Consensus was to retain the <br />statement in the ordinance. <br /> <br /> <br />
