Case 4: Appoint a Park Liaison to the Environmental Policy Task Force <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns stated they have a volunteer already and she wanted to appoint Commissioner <br />Olds to the position. She wondered if he could be appointed effective January 2004. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood stated he did not think that would be a problem. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Ostrum, seconded by Commissioner LaMere to appoint Commissioner <br />Olds as the Liaison to the Environmental Policy Task Force effective January 2004. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Johns, Commissioners Ostrum, LaMere, Lehman and <br />Olds. Voting No: None. Absent: Shryock,, <br /> <br />COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Note: City Park Improvement Request <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood explained he received an email from a resident <br />requesting a basketball hoop in Titterud Park. He stated the resident's message reflected <br />that they would like to be considered for volunteer work and he thought they could apply <br />for the lawful gambling improvement program for a basketball hoop to be placed in the <br />tennis courts. <br /> <br />Commissioner Olds asked if the basketball hoop would be placed inside the tennis court. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood stated it could be because it would contain the ball. <br />He stated there could be conflicts with tenfiis players but usually there is not. <br /> <br />Note: Formal Resignation from Commissioner Mike Rolfe <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns explained they received a formal resignation from Commissioner <br />Rolfe and she wanted to thank him for all of his work he has done the Commission over <br />the years and that he Will be missed. <br /> <br />Parks/utilities Supervisor Riverblood explained Commissioner Rolfe took the lead in <br />installing play equipment in Central Park and has been very active in the community but <br />his work schedule has forced him to resign from the COmmission. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Ostrum, seconded by Commissioner Lehman, to adjourn the meeting. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commission meeting adjourned at 6:20 p.m. <br /> <br /> Park and Recreation Commission/October 9, 2003 <br /> Page 4 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
