CASE #8: <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR SITE PLAN REVIEW: CASE OF GENE BROWN <br />By M~rk S. Banwart, Comm~_mity Development Director <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On March 13, 1989, the City of Ramsey received application and escrow from Gene <br />Brown for site plan review for an expansion to an existing building. The proposed <br />addition is 54' x 54' steel pole building. The building is located on part of Lot 5, <br />Block 4, Gateway North Industrial Park. Access to the site would be an existing <br />drive on Basalt Street Northwest. For your information, attached are the <br />following items: <br /> <br />Site location map <br />Proposed site plan <br />City Engineer's review (March 27, 1989) <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The proposed addition to the existing building is of steel construction and is <br />contrary to City Code Section 170.017 L which provides for at least 50% of the <br />exterior walls being other than metal. <br /> <br />Recommendations: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the site plan for the proposed building expansion be <br />approved with metal to be consistent with the existing building. In addition, staff <br />recommends that the driveway, and parking area be hard-surfaced and the <br />general site landscaped to provide screening between Industrial Avenue/Basalt <br />Street and the building. <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />Motion to approve/deny/table Gene Brown's proposed site plan. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />City Attorney <br />City Engineer <br />Community Development Director <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer <br />Planning & Zoning Comm.
