The proposed ordinance was submitted to and responses received from the Anoka County Dept. of Parks & Recreation, and Metropolitan Council. For your information, the following items are enclosed: Ao Proposed Draft Ordinance amending City Chapter 170.0112 (Ordinance #85-2 a.k.a. Environmental Protection Chapter of the City Code of Ramsey, Minnesota Letter from Anoka County Dept. of Parks and Recreation (March 1, 1989) Letter from Metropolitan Council (March 17, 1989) Observations: The consensus of agencies regarding the alignment and standards of width for the proposed Mississippi River Trail Corridor meets Regional and County needs. Specific concerns were raised regarding the corridor route through undeveloped land west of Alpaca Estates. Ron Cox, Park Planner with the Anoka County Department of Parks and Recreation pointed out a number of concerns he had regarding the alignment of the proposed Mississippi River Trail Corridor. In general, Metropolitan Council concurs with Anoka County's assessment of preferred trail corridor alignment. Recommendations: Staff recommends that it be directed to modify the proposed Mississippi River Trail Corridor map indicating the preferred alignments as shown by the Anoka County Dept. of Parks and Recreation. Commission Action: Motion to direct/not direct staff to prepare appropriate changes to the proposed Mississippi River Trail Corridor map pursuant to recommendations offered by the Anoka County Dept. of Parks and Recreation letter and attached map dated March i, 1989.
